Canadian designer Mark Fast's Spring/Summer 2010 collection - and especially his runway show - is drawing heaps of attention, not only for his skimpy knitwear, but also for his decision to use plus size models (sizes 8 to 14) at London Fashion Week.

The controversy extended within the designer's own staff, with reports of a meltdown of in his team; both Fast's stylist and creative director walked out just three days before Saturday's show. The designer was reportedly saved thanks to the help of a couple of freelancers who stepped in at the last minute to make sure that the show went off without a hitch, and so it did.

"There was a team change and we are glad we stuck to our vision," said Fast's creative director, Amanda May. "The decision to use fuller girls is something we have been talking about. There's an idea that only thin and slender women are able to wear Mark's dresses and he wanted to combat that. We wanted women to know they didn't have to be a size zero to wear a Mark Fast dress curvier women can look even better in them."
